SMS Notifications Opt-In Statement
How SMS notifications work on Scope, what messages you receive, how often, and how to stop them at any time.
Who sends the messages
When you provide your phone number to a business using Scope, you agree to receive SMS notifications about your appointment with them. These messages are sent on behalf of the business by Scope Techlabs LLC, our messaging technology provider.
Each message identifies the business sending it (for example, the company name appears at the start of the message).
What messages you receive
Messages relate to your booked appointment with the business. Common topics include:
- ·Booking confirmation when you book an appointment
- ·Appointment reminders sent ahead of the scheduled date
- ·Schedule changes if your appointment is rescheduled or canceled
- ·Invoice and payment updates when a bill is sent, paid, or past due
- ·Agreement signing requests when a service agreement needs your signature
- ·Report or document delivery when the business sends you a completed report
All messages are tied to a real appointment you booked. We do not send marketing or promotional SMS through this channel.
How often
You will receive approximately 1 to 3 messages per appointment. Volume varies based on what happens during the appointment lifecycle. For example, an appointment with one report delivered sends fewer messages than an appointment with a reschedule, an invoice, and a report.
Message rates
Message and data rates may apply based on your mobile carrier plan. Scope and the business sending the message do not charge you for the SMS itself.
How to stop messages
Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe. Once we receive your STOP reply, we will stop sending you SMS within 24 hours.
If you change your mind, reply START, UNSTOP, or YES to resubscribe.
You also have the option to ask the business directly to remove your phone number from SMS notifications.
How to get help
Reply HELP to any message and you will receive a reply with the name of the business and a contact phone number.
For other questions about an appointment, contact the business directly using the phone number or email shown on your booking confirmation.
How consent is captured
Consent is captured in one of two ways:
- ·Online booking. When you book through a business's Scope-powered booking page and provide your phone number, consent is given at the moment you submit the form. The booking page shows a clear notice of consent next to the submit button.
- ·Booking through staff. When a staff member of the business takes your booking by phone or in person, the staff member asks for your consent verbally or in writing before saving your phone number. The staff member records your consent in the Scope system using an explicit checkbox.
Either way, your consent is logged with a timestamp and tied to your contact record.
Your data
Your phone number is used only for sending appointment notifications and for delivery of SMS replies to the business. We do not sell, rent, or share phone numbers with third parties for marketing.
SMS message logs are retained for up to 18 months for service quality, regulatory audit, and dispute resolution purposes.
For full details on how your data is handled, see our Privacy Policy.
